The Kindertransport has entered the collective memory through both Survivor testimonies and fictional retellings. But much of what is known nearly 90 years later is not the whole story. Until recently, there weren’t even lists of the Kindertransport children. Dr. Amy Williams discovered the Kindertransport lists in Israel while she was a fellow at Yad Vashem. She has recently been appointed the Kindertransport Scholar in Residence at the Association of Jewish Refugees (AJR), where one of her key roles will be creating a platform with AJR partners that will unite Kindertransport records for the first time.
