Acclaimed Israeli author and illustrator Hanoch Piven will be giving a hands-on workshop for children at the Ocean County Library Sept. 13, and w
ill offer attendees instruction on his distinctive and popular style. When Piven came to New York at the age of 27, he was pursuing his dream of graduating from a visual arts academy and becoming an illustrator. The problem was, after spending a few years in the Israel Defense Forces, Piven was a little older and had less training than the other students; they all seemed to draw better. more
