Marketing/PR and Communications Intern

Description

JFOC and JFCS is looking for interns interested in working in a fast-paced team environment, and who desire to gain broad experience in various aspects of marketing, public relations and communications.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the creation of signage, circulars, mock ups, e-mail campaigns, on line promotion, etc.
  • Outstanding attention to detail
  • Assist in the distribution or delivery of marketing materials
  • Perform analysis of marketing data
  • Seek and analyze competitor marketing and sales materials both on and offline
  • Enter contact information into contact management systems
  • Provide support to social media efforts
  • Maintain tracking report of public relations activity

Requirements

  • Excellent computer skills (MS Office) and able to learn new programs quickly (databases, etc.)
  • Strong social media skills
  • Outstanding attention to detail
  • Strong organizational abilities
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment (fax, photocopier, etc.)
  • Strong writing and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to juggle multiple tasks
  • Knowledge of design programs/platforms is a bonus

Each internship position will also have its share of “busy” work including envelope stuffing and administrative duties like file cleaning and data entry.

FUNDRAISING AND DEVELOPMENT INTERN

Description

JFOC and JFCS is looking for interns interested in working in a fast-paced team environment, and who desire to gain broad experience in various aspects of fundraising and development. Interns will help the organization to build its donor database, identify grant and corporate sponsorship opportunities, help write proposals and appeal letters, work with social media appeals and assist the Executive Director with other activities as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Researching new foundations/grants to apply for funding
  • Researching area businesses and corporate foundations to apply for sponsorships
  • Help with writing and editing of proposals and reports
  • Provide support in sending mailings and invitations
  • Help with maintaining database records
  • Other tasks

Requirements

  • Excellent computer skills (MS Office) and able to learn new programs quickly (databases, etc.)

EVENT PLANNING INTERN 

Description

JFOC is seeking a Event Planning Intern to assist in the Marketing and Communications Department. Under general supervision, the Event Planning Intern will assist in all functions related to planning, organizing, and marketing public and private events.

Responsibilities

  • Designs flyers and other marketing materials for event
  • Attends and contributes ideas to event planning meetings
  • Works with staff and volunteers on event day to insure the event’s success
  • Takes photos at events for use on Facebook, Flickr,
  • Complete a event summary report
  • Other duties assigned

Requirements

  • Some experience planning events
  • Some experience creating marketing materials such as flyers and invitations
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and social media
  • Good organizational skills
  • Great communication skills and outgoing personality
  • Be at table at community and/or fundraising events
